Melissa from Lubbock, Texas, has attended The University of Houston and will soon enter the Covenant School of Nursing. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at age 7, but Melissa chose to make the most of her time in treatment and says that she made friends that she still keeps up with today. She enjoyed participating in summer camp as both a camper and a counselor and also received a college scholarship from the Children’s Art Project. This year her “Quiet Woods” is a greeting card in the 2007 Holiday Collection
