With the help of volunteers who sell CAP products at no profit, the Children’s Art Project funds $1.25 million to programs benefiting the pediatric patients in the Children’s Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Programs such as Child Life, the in-hospital education program, summer camps, college scholarships, a rehabilitation ski trip, field trips and much more receive funds from CAP.

CAP cards and gifts are sold in over 2,000 retail outlets — retailers who carry CAP products consider this a community service.

Become a Retailer

The Children’s Art Project relies on partnerships with both companies and individuals to make this program a success. Through the continued support of our retailers, we fund $1.25 million dollars each year to provide patient-focused programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Our products are sold at over 2,000 retail outlets. All sales proceeds fund programs directly benefiting pediatric cancer patients without profit to the retailer. However, because any items that do not sell can be returned to us for a full credit, there is also no loss to the retailer. Retailers are only responsible for paying for items that sold.

The Children’s Art Project sends special thanks to the retailers who sell these products at no profit. Their generosity allows CAP to provide the proceeds allotted to patient-focused programs at MD Anderson.

If you are unable to volunteer onsite, make your own schedule as an Adopt-a-Display volunteer.  Adopt-a-Display volunteers check fixtures in retail outlets to assure that displays are well stocked and in a prominent location and then report back to the Children's Art Project retail operations.  This can take as little as 10 minutes each week, but it is a tremendous help!  To find a retailer near you in need of adoption, please call 713-745-2575 and ask to speak with the Adopt-a-Display coordinator. For locations outside of the Houston area, please call 800-231-1580.

Children’s Art Project products are available year-round at gift shops located throughout MD Anderson. Also, the Children’s Art Project products are sold by the CAP Task Force in the Clark Clinic Lobby from October through December each year as well as in the Mays Clinic Lobby during December.

If you enjoy retail sales, volunteer to work at an off-site show within the Houston area.  Volunteers man booths to help sell Children’s Art Project products, which raise funds for programs that benefit patients from the Children's Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
