In 2012, the
number of volunteer hours contributed to the Children's Art Project were
approximately 498,641. That is equivalent to over 239 full-time employees.
CAP
volunteers are everywhere! You might see someone in a store
straightening and stocking a retail fixture or working behind a sales table at
an off-site sale or at a meeting helping to determine the distribution
of the year’s proceeds. You can almost always find volunteers in
the office basement pulling and shipping orders, in the office packaging
products, assembling media kits or writing thank you notes. And in the
Children's Cancer Hospital at MD Anderson Cancer Center volunteers work with the
pediatric patients in art classes. The story is
the same every year – CAP gets by with a lot of help from our friends.
"I have been volunteering for different issues for 15 years, but you all are the best. You make me feel that my contribution is really appreciated and make the experience fun. I guess that is why I am willing to drive 90 minutes to work with the MDAH team. It feel more like meeting friends on a project. Thank you for all that you do!" - Georgia, Valued Volunteer
We hope that you will
volunteer for the Children’s Art Project. Over the years, our
network of support and dedication from inspired volunteers who offer
their time, talent and resources has helped the Children’s Art Project
grow to become one of the largest and most well known charitable card
projects in the U.S. With your assistance we can continue to increase the
resources to support the needs of our pediatric cancer patients, enrich
their lives with normal childhood experiences and provide opportunities
for artistic expression and continued education as they battle cancer. Your assistance means a great deal to us and we look forward to your
support in the coming year.
